DOTCOM Launches PHASE 3! - Module #1: Reflecting on DOTCOM, Phase 2

1)The most challenging thing for me is a movie program. I learnt how to make movies by the help of Imovie. It was very excited for me to work in groups. Because I have never done anything like this in groups. Most importantly I learnt how to respect each other's ideas. I improved my computer knowledge too. The modern life in the USA was very interesting for me.

2)I have never heard about Vermont before, but now I know more about the traditions of Vermont. And I think my English is getting better day by day. My intellect is better than it was before. I learn to do something without help of my family and live free. Now I understand how strong friendship can be between the USA and Azerbaijan.

3)I have the most fun in Bolton Adventures Center. It was awesome fun for me. Spending more time with my american friends was enjoyable for me too. We can have fun playing baseball by the help of our host father. And of course I can't forget our gold times in Boston. It was very modern state. But for the rest Vermont is the best. The scenery of Vermont admired me. Our time with our host family's dog was enjoyable for me too.

4)I expect very interesting modules and more fun. Thanks for everyhing!!!

1.Media: Media plays an important role in our life. It can inspire our imagination. I am fond of reading newspapers, magazines, watching TV. By the help of them I can follow the events which take place in our country working on the computer. For ex: By the help of Internet I have taken part in the project "Our Role in the Creating the Society We Want" and "Understanding our community needs" by PH International.

2.Environment:Environment is what is around us. Our health mainly depends on environment. The pollution of environment is one of the global problems in the world. It creates a lot of diseases. Everything depends on human. Humans pollute environment themselves. We mustn’t cut trees, throw litter. Factories, plants, vehicles pollute the environment sending a lot of smoke, poisonous into the air. Let’s protect our environment.

3.Peace/War/Conflict:We always prefer peace to war. “There never was a good war or a bad peace”- Benjamin Franklin said these words. Wars change everywhere into deserts, wars present thousands of ruined villages, towns and cities, millions of orphans who have to grow up either without father or mother, the worst of all, without parental care. Wars bring us a lot of tears. But since the beginning of the world there have been conflicts among countries, among people. I think during the wars the sides lost not win. If there is blood we can’t think about victory. I want blue sky. I want to see smile in the faces, not tears. I want peace everywhere.

This video is about the ball "ADIDAS".At first it appeals to the REPTILIAN part of my brain for its scene.We know that it is about the ball.Then it influences the LIMBIC part of my brain because of its music, action, characters.At the end it appeals to the NEOCORTEX part of my brain.Because it persuades us to know these kinds of balls as the best in the world.In my opinion we can use these persuasive techniques here:Symbols, Testimonial, Plain Folks, Bandwagon,
Humor

1)Symbols:"ADIDAS" is the symbol of the ball.It envolves our attention to the quality of this ball.

2)Testimonial:It persuades us by support from famous football players-Beckham, Del
Pyero, Zidane.The participating of these famous people here increases the might of influence of this commercial.

3) Plain Folks:It persuades us by appealing to the common men:woman, guy.It shows the firmness of the ball by the help of these plain people.They can play with these balls as the famous people do it.

4)Bandwagon:It persuades by insisting that everyone-the well-known football players, the common people, even the children can do it.The ball incites everyone to kick, to bounce, to do tricks.These kinds of balls attracts everybody's attention ewerywhere-in the street, on the bus.

5)Humor:It convinces through appeals to the funny bone.The attitude of the dog, fat man to the ball makes this commercial funny when they play with this ball.

My goal in choosing this commercial is my interest to football.I think it will persuade other people as well as I do.I hope the shown tricks with balls here will evoke interest even in the people who dislikes football.

Our brains on Media

Oh! Music, pictures are wonderful.This movie starring by Tom Cruise makes a strong impressionon me.At first it influences the limbic part of my brain, because the music, actions make me feel the whole film.I have positive emotions.Then if touches the neocortex part of my brain it makes me think how brave, fearless the main hero is.He has mission which seems impossible.But the main character does his best in order to do it possible.He affords any difficulties to achieve his goal with his incredible rapidity, braveness.It makes me believe that if you try hard, if you have a goal, a will in life you will overcome everything, every problem.Of course, some events in the movie are far from reality but the author reveals the negative features of the society by the help of main hero.I watch this movie with interest, with excitement.





How sweet, cute the baby is?I love babies.This baby is so smart, so clever that he does everything according to the book.This movie influences the neocortex part of my brain, because it makes me believe that the main thing in a man is wisdom, cleverness.The baby wins the gangsters for his intelligence.It makes me believe that wisdom isn't attained with years but by ability.The proverb says:"A close mouth catches no flies".We follow the foolish gangsters by the help of the baby and we laugh at them.They are so funny, so stupid.It is fantastic, unreal, because he is a baby, he can't do these things, but by the help of the baby the author exposes the gangsters.

Reading books helps us to improve our speech.I read books but not very often.Books sometimes part us from reality.I like to read books by classical writers , poets.For ex:by a great Azerbaijani poet Mahammad Fuzuli, writer M.F.Akhundov, J.Jabbarli, W.Shakespeare.I enjoy reading historical books.

2)Newspapers, magazines

Reading newspapers means to follow the events in the country. I read newspapers, magazines when I have time.I enjoy following the sport events, especially football, reading the news about the life of actors, actresses.

3)Music

I can't imagine my life without music.Music affects our spirit.Listening to music I relax.It's a pity that I can't play music.I like to listen to our mugams, to pop music, to rap especially my favorite rap group HOST.And I listen every kind of music which is perfect.

4)Television

Television is the mirror of life.It reflects everything that we need.I like to watch movies, musical, sport programs, intellectual games, programs about education, charity.By the help of one of these programs I learned about the boy who was ill and needed help.I was eager to help him.I organized my schoolmates and made advertisements about the boy who needed our help.

5)Video games

Yas, I like to play video games very much.For ex:Call of Duty, Pro Evelation Soccer, Harry Porter and others.I like to play Call of Duty, because this game shows the troubles of wars.Pro Evalation Soccer-because it is about football.Harry Porter-because it requires a lot of intellect.

6)Computers

Computers are the best things in our life.I use computer very often.I like to listen to music, to play games, to chat.

7)Internet

Internet is the window to the world.Internet helps us to get informarion we need.By the help of Internet I like to take part on different projects, and get more friends, like this project offered by you.I have a chance to present my country.If I do something good for my country it will make me happy.
